Conference program

Oral presentations are 20 minutes, with an additional 5 minutes designated for Q&A, followed by a 5-minute transition period.

Each presentation room will have the following equipment: a Windows computer with access to the Internet, a screen, a projector, and sound system. We encourage all presenters to save their presentations on a cloud-based platform (e.g., SharePoint, Google drive, Dropbox) or to bring it on a USB key so the presentation can be retrieved and loaded onto the main console computer in each room. We also encourage all presenters to load and test their presentations on the main console computer in each presentation room ahead of their presentations such as during coffee or lunch breaks. An IT technician, along with several volunteers, will be available throughout the conference to assist with technical issues.

While the posterboards are 4’ x 6’ (1.2 x 1.8 m) in size, posters should ideally be smaller, for example, around 48 x 36 inches (1.2 x 0.9 m) in size (either portrait or landscape orientation is fine). If you are unable to print one large poster sheet or to travel easily with a large printed poster, feel free to create your poster from several smaller printed panels. You will be responsible for printing and bringing your own poster. We will provide clips or push pins for mounting your poster. You’ll be expected to stand by your poster during the entire session to answer questions and engage with attendees. Additional guidelines for preparing a poster are available in a separate document.

Teaching tip presentations are scheduled for 8 minutes each and will be conducted in a round robin style. Presenters will stay seated at their tables while attendees rotate to listen to each presentation. A bell will ring every 8 minutes, signaling the audience to move to the next presentation, allowing for a 2-minute transition period.

The table assignment for each teaching tip presentation will be available in the final conference program. Please check your table assignment in advance and arrive early to get settled. No A/V equipment will be provided for teaching tip sessions. Presenters are welcome to bring a printed handout or their own laptop to show materials to attendees at their table.

There will be no projector or extension cords, and access to outlets may be limited, so presenters are encouraged to ensure that their device is fully charged.
