Take part in social activities during and after the conference and enjoy your time in Montréal and Québec!
Friday, 17 October 2025 (4:30–6:30 PM): Discover Montreal through a walk led by one of our volunteers. Option 1 is for those who love nature, scenic views, and a taste of Montreal’s vibrant outdoors while Option 2 is meant for those who want to enjoy a mix of history, culture, and culinary delights.
Option 1: Sunset Hike to the Top of Mont-Royal

Discover Montreal’s most iconic green space on this guided walk through Mont-Royal. Designed by the landscape architect of New York’s Central Park, Mont-Royal offers a unique mix of nature and city views right in the heart of Montreal.

You will enjoy a gradual ascent hiking through forest trails leading to the Mont-Royal Chalet, home to the city’s best-known lookout over the downtown skyline and the St. Lawrence River. A short stop will allow time for photos, refreshments, and a visit to Beaver Lake, a peaceful spot ideal for a brief stroll. You will have the chance to grab a coffee, maple treat, or pastry at the Chalet café.

The tour will conclude at the edge of downtown, close to several excellent dining options should you wish to continue your evening: Schwartz’s Deli for Montreal’s famous smoked meat sandwiches or Café Parvis for a relaxed, modern bistro experience.
Note: Restaurants in this area may be busy on Friday evenings. If you plan to dine afterward, we recommend making a reservation in advance for you and your party.
Option 2: Chinatown & Old Montreal Walking Tour

Explore two of Montreal’s most distinctive neighbourhoods on this cultural walking tour. The walk will first pass through Chinatown, known for its lively streets, traditional small businesses, and modern bubble tea shops: an ideal place for a quick refreshment before the walk continues.

From there, you will experience the historic charm of Old Montreal, with its cobblestone streets, European-style architecture, and notable landmarks such as the Notre-Dame Basilica and Jacques-Cartier Square. The tour will end by the Old Port, offering picturesque waterfront views and proximity to excellent restaurants, including Modavie (French cuisine with live music) and Vieux-Port Steakhouse.

Note: Restaurants in this area may be busy on Friday evenings. If you plan to dine afterward, we recommend making a reservation in advance for you and your party.
